USA TODAY

Hello Everyone,

I want to apologize for not updating the blog sooner.  This new school year has been keeping me rather busy...but, I do have some information concerning our new campaign, so listen up! :)

This time, we are asking letter writers to send their pro-life letters to the USA TODAY (their letter plicy can be found here: http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/How-to-send-letters-to-USA-TODAY.htm ). Our current sendout date is February 14, 2012.  I will let you know if this date changes.

Please be praying about this project.  Continue to pray that God will be glorified and people will see the truth about abortion.  Please also pray that God will bring many, many people to be part of this project.

If you plan on writing a letter, please let me know! I would really love to know how many letters will be going out, so please tell me if you're going to send a letter!

Remember to check out our Facebook page.  You can find it at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Voices-of-the-Innocent/177964268906636 .

Thanks everyone!

New Letter-writing project

Dear Friends,

I’d like to share some exciting news with y’all…Voices of the Innocent is doing another letter writing project! I had been praying about another project, and after receiving a little note from a friend asking about our blog, I knew it was time to get started. The fight to end abortion is not over, so our efforts should not stop. I am very thankful for everyone who helped make our last project possible, and hope that God will lead you to be part of this project.

Before I even give you the details to our new project, I’d like to ask you be praying about this. Pray that GOD will be a part of this project. Pray that GOD will lead people to write letters. Pray that GOD will guide us through this journey. Pray that GOD will receive ALL of the glory.

Okay…the details! :) This time, I’m asking people to send their pro-life letters (once again, on the same day) to one newspaper. I’m thinking about either the “NEW YORK TIMES” or “USA TODAY. I’ll let you know which one for sure ASAP.

Our send-out date is going to be in February again. It’ll give us plenty of time to reach out to others and tell them about our project. Please, please, please be telling others about this! Give the blog link to friends on the internet or perhaps share our project idea with your youth group or Homeschool group! Be spreading the word so that we can have as many people as possible involved in this.

I will try and update the blog soon. Olivia has been staying very busy this summer, so I’m not sure when or how often she will be able to post. But until next time, God bless!

An Overdue Update

First of all, I want to apologize to everyone for the lateness of this blog post.  I should have updated y'all sooner...totally my fault! :}

February 14 was an exciting date for me.  I was thrilled with what God was doing and what He had allowed us to accomplish.  God brought so many wonderful people (the majority I did not even know!) to be part of this project!  I am very thankful for that...Praise the Lord for His goodness! I'm not for sure on how many letters got sent out (I'm thinking 20+!), but I am thankful for each one that was sent.  Thank you to everyone who helped us with this.  Together, we were able to protest the murder of the innocent-something that we must continue to do until abortion is STOPPED completely!  My letter was not published, but that's okay. God does not expect success from us-but He does expect effort.  It's our responsability to try, and then we must leave the results in His hands!

I will close for now, though I would like to remind everyone to be praying for the people out in Tenessee, Alabama, and Georgia who have been affected by these storms.  Pray for healing and grace...pray that God will reveal Himself to those who have been hurt.

God bless,

--Emily--

Prayer Request.....

Hey all,

I wanted to ask you y'all to pray for a family that my family is acquainted with.  Their 16 year old son was lifting weights at school, and apparently when he went to put the weight back on the stopper thingy, it didn't catch, and the weights fell on his chest.  When everyone had found him, he was purple.  They took him to a hospital, and found out that he was brain dead.  PLEASE, keep this family in your prayers.  I have not heard whether he has died or what, but I will let y'all know.

Thanks everyone!!

Letter from Jennifer....

This is a letter that Jenn wrote, and she said that I could share it with y'all!!  Enjoy!! =)

~Olivia~

Between 1973 and 2005, 45 million pregnancies were legally terminated, according to The Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) as reported on Abort73.com. Abortion continues to destroy 22 percent of all U.S. pregnancies and 15 percent of all Texas pregnancies (AGI).
Today, through agencies like Planned Parenthood and other falsely helpful organizations, many people do not realize that abortion kills an innocent child. Though labeled as simply a mass of cells, a fetus is a human being.
Three weeks after conception, an unborn child’s heart begins to beat, according to SomebodyLovesYourBaby.com. Brain waves are measurable at six weeks, and a baby can smile, frown, wince, or pout at ten weeks, according to the same source. An unborn child can recognize its mother’s voice while still in the womb. A fetus is a living baby.
In the political realm, the word choice is used often, and only in the mother’s favor. It is the mother’s choice whether or not to continue the pregnancy, they say, because she will be most affected by the decision. A person who is pro-choice is said to side with the mother.
But how does abortion affect the child inside the womb? Greatly, because it ends his or her life. What choice would the baby make, if he or she had the chance to raise his or her voice? Would he or she be pro-choice or pro-life?
Too often abortion occurs because of a lack of understanding and knowledge about abortion. There are options aside from abortion. SomebodyLovesYourBaby.com encourages women to choose adoption. Local pregnancy crisis centers provide support to women who choose life.
This Valentine’s Day, I choose life. No child deserves to die before he or she has a chance to live. Let the voices of the innocent be heard.

I'm Still Around!! =)

Hey everyone,

I am sorry for my neglect of the blog.... I hope that you can forgive me.  The past few weeks have been.... VERY busy -- basketball started beck up, I had Semester Exams the past week (they cover A TON of information, and require A TON of studying time-), and they are hard to study for when you have basketball practice all afternoon, and I have been trying to wrap up this quarter by getting caught up on some missed quizzes, pop quizzes, and everything that goes along with wrapping up a semester. Those of you that are home schooled probably know what I am talking about!!

Anyway, I wanted thank all of you for praying for my Uncle Dave (you can find the info about his injury on my "Please Pray...." post).  He is doing much better, but he is still in some pain at times.  But the BIG praise is that he is up, and around..... not working or anything to that extreme, but around the house, I mean.  Thank you sooo much for keeping him in your prayers, and please continue to pray!!

One other thing that I wanted to mention is that we are just a little less then a month from sending the letter out!!  Yeah!! =) Again, Emily, and I are going to get back to you about the sending details, but we will get that info to you soon.  However, though we are blessed to have a number of letters being written, we would love to have your commitment to writing a letter.  If you haven't considered writing a letter yet, and your not quite sure, please pray about it, and consider it.  You can find more info about writing a letter on our "Letter Guidelines" page, or our "Example Letters" page, where you can find the letters that Emily, and I have written!!

Thank for you suport!!

What is wrong with us?

I read something today that made me really angry...our family recieves the WORLD magazine (their link is in our favorites list), and not too long ago, the magazine sent out an issue about the abortion battle in America.  I read a short article in this magazine that reported a Virginia woman gave birth to an infant and then smothered it.  Since the baby was born , officials would certainly consider this to be a case of murder, right? Wrong.  The child's umbilical cord had not been cut, so Virginia officials did not rule this as murder. VA law requires that the child be "independent and seperate existance apart from its mother before its death" in order for him to be considered a murder victim. So, in their eyes, this was not a case of murder.

This makes me so angry!  I mean, this was a living, human being!  And yet, people accept the fact that a woman killed her child!  But then, why should this suprise me?  The murder of America's children happens everday.  How can people do this?  I mean, whatever your reason, is it really one that is worthy of murder? Hardly!  God forgive America...may He give us the strength to fight such a wicked practice and the grace of setting our nation on the right path!

God bless,

Please Pray.....

Well, I know that it has been a while that I have been here, but to be honest, I have been going through a bit of a writers block...... I know that that is a pretty bad excuse, but I am telling the truth!! =)  Please forgive me!!

I have a prayer request, and I would really appreciate if you would remember it in your prayers daily.  My great Uncle (Dave) was cutting trees down in the woods around their house, and somehow (we don't know how) a tree, or tree branch hit him in the head.  Fortunately, they had just bought a new set of walkies-talkies, and after being unconscious for some time ( they don't know for how long), he called home and this son, John went to go find him.  When John finally found him, my Uncle Dave was staggering around, blood everywhere, and couldn't remember anything except his chain saw getting stuck.  Uncle Dave was in, and our several times before the family decided to rush him to the hospital.  They found out that he has a crack in his scull, a broken nose, 2 black eyes, some teeth missing, and the doctors thought there might have been some swelling on the brain, but the results of the MRI, or.... something showed that there is NO swelling on the brain which is an answer to pray.  Uncle Dave is now at home recovering, but he has pain in his neck, and he is in a lot of pain.  BTW, this happened the day before New Years Eve, and the family was supposed to be coming for a visit for New Years, but obviously, they won't be making any trip any time soon.

PLEASE..... pray for the family, and pray that the Lord will sooth the pain, and also that He will comfort my Aunt Cynthia.  She has a job, but I'm not sure if she staying home, but I imagine that she is not.  And obviously, Uncle Dave will be out of work for quite some time.

Thank you for praying!!
